I keep having these future type of dreams. Why?

See, I have these crazy dreams were I'm traveling through a forest or a city by futuristic type of cars or transportation. Usually, I help people with problems or protect them from some sort of scary creature from the sky. but what really scared me was the other night I dreamed I was trying to help some family and I woke up to this sharp moving pain down my back. When I turned around, I saw this clear figure move around my bed then vanished. It scared me to the point were I started to sleep with my light on? What does this mean? I'm not joking about the weird thing that I saw.
