Opinions needed?

I am a college student right now and I am having trouble with picking my major. I love English and Journalism. However, in my area those careers are not very needed. What is needed in my area is anything medical. I did phlebotomy before and I enjoyed it. I can handle the sight of blood, not just anything like surgery or anything too gory. I have heard that a physical therapist istant, occupational therapist, or a speech therapist are good careers. I love reading, writing, and helping people with their problems. I have also considered being a guidance counselor for a school or a psychiatric ward.
