I can't tell you what to do about the relationship, but don't get too upset about his reaction. Most of the time when a guy starts to get pissy, its the same as when a girl starts to cry. He's probably just as broken up about the situation as you are. Just give him some time, then tell him how you really feel about it. If you're lucky, the whole thing will work out, even if you have to wait a while.
