Does anyone know a good dry dog food?

I have a dog who is allergy prone and need a good dog food not hard on the budget but good. Main ingredient meat preferred and I used to use Nutro Max but not sure if this is the best. I have 2 dogs one is large 54 lbs and the allergy prone is a bull terrier mix 30 lbs, so I would need at least a 17 lb bag or bigger. so need to feed them the same food. Would not like to spend more than $35-40. Any suggestions on other foods that do not cause allergies that do not have all the fillers and stuff. Some one told me to try Purina One but I am not sure Purina One is better than Nutro Max. I was reading about Natural Balance but not sure. any suggestions welcome...
