How do i change my bfs style?

Let me just say i love him very much and appreciate him, but this is also to help him get a job and respect by people. He dresses in many different cartoon characters with, janitor like chains with padlocks. his style is more punk rocker to the extreme while i am urban. i dont want him to be urban but how do i get him to wear normal things. I tried suggesting it but he will not listen, he wants to wear what i get him but wear the same old stuff still. im not shallow i just want to help him get a job and better himself, because i care about him so much.
